Inter got a massive win in the derby against AC Milan in their third meeting with the Rossoneri across all competitions this season.

The Nerazzurri followed up on their win over their city rivals in the Supercoppa Italiana last month, and got some measure of revenge for defeat in the first league derby of the season, with their 1-0 win.

Striker Lautaro Martinez scored the match’s only goal with a first-half header from a Hakan Calhanoglu, whilst the whole team worked well to control the match and keep a clean sheet.

The Nerazzurri’s domination was such in the first half that they set a record for the derby, as noted by football statistics account Opta.

They tweeted, “9 – In the first half Inter made nine more shots than Milan (nine vs zero), a record in the first half of a match between these two sides since 2004/05 (since the data is available). Supremacy.
