Atletico Madrid are ready to try and sign Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thruam during the summer transfer window, but would face competition from Bayern Munich, Inter, and clubs in the Premier League.

This according to Spanish news outlet Marca, via FCInterNews, who report that the Frenchman is on the Colchoneros’ radar as a summer free transfer but that the Nerazzurri and other clubs are also very keen on him.

Thuram looks all but certain to leave Gladbach on a free transfer in the summer when his contract expires at the end of June, but where he goes remains up in the air.

The Nerazzurri have been one of the main contenders for his signature, having looked close to signing the Frenchman in the summer of 2021 already, whilst Bayern as well as several clubs in the Premier League are also keen.

According to Marca, Atletico had already been considering a move for Thuram in the January window, but balked at Gladbach’s €15 million asking price and ultimately decided to sign Memphis Depay from Barcelona instead.
