Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has asked for a wage increase to around €6 million net per season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 28-year-old is hoping for the Nerazzurri to reach this amount in their offer as some unnamed clubs in the Premier League have stepped up with an interest in signing him.

Calhanoglu is a player whose contract Inter are keen to extend as soon as they possibly can.

The Nerazzurri see the Turkish former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder as a key player for the future, and they want to get contract talks wrapped up well before next season, with his present deal set to run out at the end of June 2024.

The player is asking for €6 million net per season, according to the Gazzetta.

In the background, the newspaper reports, there is interest from teams in the Premier League in signing the former Rossoneri man.
