Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni is asking for around €5 million net per season to extend his contract, whilst the Nerazzurri are offering wages of €4-4.5 million net per season on a new deal.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that there is still some distance to be made up in negotiations with the 23-year-old as the Nerazzurri are determined to fall within the parameters of an agreement with UEFA.

Inter are keen to make rapid progress in contract talks with Bastoni, as they do not want to see the 23-year-old go into the final season of his deal, which expires at the end of June 2024, without an extension.

So far, the talks have gone in a positive direction as there is real willingness on both sides, but the wages would still have to be worked out.

According to the Gazzetta, Bastoni is hoping for €5 million net per season, around €1 million net less than Lautaro Martinez earns.

For this part, Inter have put €4-4.5 million net per season, and amount that would put them within the parameters of a settlement with UEFA regarding the wage bill.
