Inter striker Romelu Lukaku is likely to be in the starting eleven for the Nerazzurri’s Serie A clash with Sampdoria and then their Champions League match against Porto.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Belgian is ready to steadily increase his playing time, and that the goal is for him to start against Porto.

Lukaku had started against Atalanta in the Coppa Italia last week, whilst he was a second-half substitute against Milan in the derby on Sunday.

The 29-year-old has not quite been at peak match-fitness yet, but the feeling is that he is only getting closer and closer to his best with each day that passes since his recovery from injury.

According to the Gazzetta, the likelihood is high that Lukaku will start against Sampdoria next Monday, whilst the aim is for him to start against Porto in the Champions League round of sixteen first leg as well.
