Sampdoria will be without experienced defender Omar Colley in their Serie A clash with Inter next week, as the Gambian is set to leave the club to join Besiktas.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, who report that 30-year-old former Genk man is set to make the switch to the Istanbul giants before the Turkish transfer window close in a deal worth around €2.5 million.

Sampdoria’s task in keeping themselves in Serie A looks a monumental one, and could get even more so as they will be losing one of the linchpins of their defense in the form of Colley.

The Gambian is set to join Besiktas before the winter transfer window for the Turkish Super League closes this evening.

This will come as a big blow for the Blucerchiati, as Colley has remained a regular starter in the backline for Dejan Stankovic’s side right until their match against Monza on Monday.
