Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic and striker Romelu Lukaku are both getting closer and closer to full match-fitness as they each target a starting appearance against Sampdoria in Monday evening’s Serie A clash.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, via FCInter1908, who report that both of the pair are starting to show their best form in training as optimism grows that they can have a real contribution to make over the rest of the season.

Both Brozovic and Lukaku have missed more than half of the season so far with a few different injuries, and even though the team has coped in their absence, the sense that they have been missed has remained.

Now, both are fully recovered from injuries, and they are aiming to reach peak form with more playing time.

Both came off the bench during the second half of Sunday’s derby win over AC Milan in Serie A.

According to La Repubblica, both Brozovic and Lukaku are aiming to be on the pitch from the first minute against Sampdoria on Monday, and in both cases, the sense is that they will already be pretty close to full match-fitness.
