Inter are very much interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka in the summer, but not as a direct replacement for Milan Skriniar.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 23-year-old is on the Nerazzurri’s radar as a free transfer opportunity but that the fact that he is left-footed means he would not be a like-for-like replacement for Skriniar.

Inter could be in for something of a defensive rebuild during the summer transfer window, and finding a replacement for Skriniar will be one of the main objectives.

Given that the Slovakian has played almost exclusively on the right side of the back three for the past few seasons, the aim would be finding a suitable profile to fill in for him in this role.

Ndicka is left-footed and so would be an awkward stylistic fit on the right, and so he would not be sought as a replacement for the Slovakian.

This does not mean that Inter are not interested in signing the Frenchman, however, and on the contrary, he is seen as a major target on a free transfer.
