Inter could be at risk of another situation like the one which has seen Milan Skriniar decide to leave the club if they do not raise their contract extension offer to defender Alessando Bastoni.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who suggest that the 23-year-old could grow frustrated with his situation if the Nerazzurri do not make a financial effort to wrap up contract extension negotiations.

Inter are working to try and convince Bastoni to extend his contract past the end of June 2024.

The club’s intention is to have an agreement wrapped up before the end of the current season, so that they avoid the possible scenario of having the player head into the final season of his deal without an extension.

So far, however, the club’s offer has been insufficient to convince the player.

Tuttosport suggest that, if the Nerazzurri do not make a push by increasing their offer, the risk would be that the player would start to grow more doubtful about his situation as the talks drag on.

Inter have already learned the hard way what can happen when a player sees what they can be earning elsewhere in how the Skriniar situation has played out.

Bastoni, like the Slovakian, is a player with very high market value, and Tuttosport argue that the 23-year-old will be well aware of his value to Inter, either on the pitch or on the transfer market, and so he will not take kindly to offers of a new deal that he feels do not reflect his value.
