Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio is currently in London where he is looking to see what kind of interest there is from Chelsea and other Premier League clubs in signing wingback Denzel Dumfries.

This according to Italian journalist Marco Barzgahi, who reported in a video on his YouTube channel that the Nerazzurri executive has made talks for the Dutchman the main purpose of his visit to the English capital.

Dumfries is certainly a player whose future at Inter is up in the air.

There is no lack of transfer interest in the former PSV wingback, who only arrived at the Nerazzurri in the summer of 2021, but who has already been suggested as a major candidate for a sale in the summer.

A number of clubs have shown an interest in signing Dumfries, but the Nerazzurri will still have to determine which if any are ready to take the decisive steps towards getting a deal done for the 26-year-old when the summer transfer window opens.

Barzaghi explained that “As far as the transfer market, Piero Ausilio is currently at work in London.”

“He’s there trying to get information about a number of different siutations, but above all to test the ground for any interested parties in Dumfries,” the journalist continued.

“Chelsea, however, have already signed a player in that position in Malo Gusto.”

“We’ve already reported that there’s also interest from Real Madrid,” Barzaghi went on.

“For now, however, the Dutchman must be given chances to play,” he noted, “or else the risk will be of his value depreciating.”
