The former of Inter duo Federico Dimarco and Matteo Darmian this season on the flanks has meant that the Nerazzurri could decide to cash in on the players who were expected to be the main starters ahead of the pair.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who suggest that the Italian pair’s emergence as top-quality wingback options means that Denzel Dumfries and Robin Gosens could be put up for sale in the summer.
Both Dimarco and Darmian had come into this season expected to have roles as squad players.
In both cases, the versatility and reliability that the two Italian players have shown would mean that they would likely get plenty of playing time, but not necessarily that they would be the automatic starters ahead of Gosens and Dumfries.
However, the pitch has told a different story, as it has been the Italians who have been in the best form for much of the season.
Now, Dumfries and Gosens could be ready to move on in search of a new challenge in the summer, and they could leave to bring in a transfer fee.
