Inter will be hoping that wingback Denzel Dumfries rediscovers his best form over the rest of the season, and not just for reasons on the pitch.

This is highlighted by Italian news outlet FCInter1908, who note that the Nerazzurri will be hoping that the Dutchman’s value can reach what it had been right after the World Cup, and that for this to happen he certainly cannot afford to continue to be out of form.

After Dumfries’s performances at the World Cup in Qatar with the Dutch national team, Inter had been ready to hold out for €50-60 million for his signature.

Moreover, there looked to be a real chance that teams such as Chelsea and Manchester United would be prepared to meet this asking price, or at least get close to it with an offer.

Given that Dumfries has been out of form and out of Inter’s regular starting eleven over the past few weeks, there will likely be more doubts on the part of the clubs interested in signing the former PSV wingback.

Accordingly, Inter will feel that it is very important that Dumfries start to convince interested clubs to make a big offer for him in the summer with his form over the remainder of the current season.
