Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is ready to play from the start in Monday evening’s Serie A match against Sampdoria, and it will be the first match that the Croat starts in nearly five months.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 30-year-old is now finally both recovered from injury and fully match-fit for the first time since the early weeks of the season.
The timing of Brozovic’s injuries has really restricted the extend to which he’s been able to play for Inter.
A thigh injury picked up during the September international break meant that the 30-year-old missed much of the time between then and the World Cup, only returning for a few substitute appearances.
Then, shortly after the World Cup, the Croat suffered a calf problem which ruled him out for about a month of action.
Brozovic was able to come off the bench during the second half of the Milan derby over the weekend.
However, now for the first time in almost five months, since Inter’s loss to Udinese on September 18 of last year, the Croat will be ready to play from the first minute against Sampdoria.
