Inter are set to hold further contract extension talks with defender Alessandro Bastoni over the coming weeks, with the club hoping that they can convince the player with the right salary offer.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 23-year-old is seeking €5 million net per season, and that the direction of the negotiations will be determined by whether the Nerazzurri can offer this and stay within budget.

Inter want to get things wrapped up on a new deal for Bastoni as soon as possible despite the fact that the former Parma and Atalanta defender’s current contract runs out at the end of June 2024.

Currently the 23-year-old earns €2.8 million net per season plus significant add-ons, but he is seeking to have the fixed amount on the deal increased to €5 million.

It will remain to be seen how much Inter can offer Bastoni, as the club’s wage budget can only go so high, Tuttosport notes.
