Italian journalist Marco Barzaghi believes that rumours have circulated Chelsea could try to offer striker Romelu Lukaku to Napoli as part of a deal for Victor Osimhen, which would mean that it wouldn’t be totally straightforward for Inter to sign the Belgian permanently.

Reporting on his YouTube channel, the journalist explained that, whilst Inter will be looking to negotiate an extension of the 29-year-old’s loan deal from Chelsea, the English club could potentially have other ideas.

At the moment, Lukaku is only at Inter on loan from Chelsea.

Accordingly the Nerazzurri will have to try and negotiate an extension of the paid loan deal which he is currently on, which expires at the end of the current season.

If the Premier League club decide that they want to try and sell the Belgian for another club, however, things could very well become tricky for the Nerazzurri to sign Lukaku permanently.

“Before finding an agreement with Lukaku, they first have to find one with Chelsea,” Barzaghi noted.

“We have to see whether the English club are willing to renegotiate the current agreement, to lower the fee for the loan and perhaps decide on a figure for the purchase option,” he continued.

“Even yesterday there were rumours circulating about the possibility of an offer from Chelsea to Napoli with Lukaku as part of a deal to sign Osimhen,” he added.

“Therefore, it will not be an easy deal for Inter,” Barzaghi said.
