One out of Marcelo Brozovic or Henrikh Mkhitaryan will start in midfield for Inter in Monday evening’s Serie A match against Sampdoria.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that Brozovic is ready to make his first start in five months alongside Nicolo Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu, but that Mkhitaryan would still be a candidate.

Brozovic made his return to the pitch as a substitute during Inter’s Serie A win over AC Milan in the derby on Sunday.

There is now a good chance of the Croat being ready to start against Sampdoria, based on what has been seen in training, although according to the Gazzetta, a start for Mkhitaryan cannot be entirely ruled out.

Meanwhile, in attack it looks very likely that Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez will be the pair to lead the line from the start, with the Belgian the favourite to start the match ahead of Edin Dzeko.
