Bari Sporting Director Ciro Polito: “Inter Milan’s Sebastiano Esposito Has Made Mistakes, But I Told Him No Room For A Bad Attitude Here”

Bari’s Sporting Director is aware of the fact that Inter striker Sebastiano Esposito has developed a reputation for having some attitude problems behind the scenes, but he didn’t let that stop his club from taking a chance on the 20-year-old.

Speaking in a press conference, as reported by FCInterNews, Bari Sporting Director Ciro Polito explained that he has made clear to the young Nerazzurri striker that behavioural issues won’t be tolerated, but that he still backs the player to make an impact.

Esposito signed for Bari during the January transfer window, with the Puglian team having won the race for a player who had been the subject of interest from quite a number of teams in Serie B and Serie A.

The 20-year-old’s talent has hardly ever been in question, although across recent loan spells at Basel and Anderlecht there have been reports of some issues off the pitch, including disagreements with coaches and staff.

For his part, Bari Sporting Director Polito was certainly aware of this reputation, but he has spoken with Esposito and conveyed that if the player shows any attitude problems, there will be consequences.

“Esposito is a player who, by making a few mistakes, has gotten attached to a label that risks following him around for his entire career,” Polito said.

“Before signing him he was here in Bari, in my office,” the executive added, “I told him that there’s no room for a bad attitude here.”

“I decided to sign him, he’s a player who can give something to this Bari team,” Polito added.
