Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri has emerged as a potential target for both Inter and AC Milan next season, as they monitor his situation in Rome.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Il Messaggero, should either of the two Stadio Giuseppe Meazza clubs dispense with their coaches at the end of the season, they will target Sarri to take the helm over the summer.

Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi was Sarri’s predecessor at Lazio and appeared to be under threat after a slow start to the season, but Inter find themselves in second place in Serie A and have already lifted the Supercoppa Italiana, whilst they are into the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia.

On the other hand, Milan coach Stefano Pioli has seen his side falter since the turn of the year and they have struggled for form, with yesterday’s 1-0 win over Torino their first victory since the World Cup break.

Sarri has endured a difficult relationship with Lazio since taking over at the Stadio Olimpico in 2021, but recently signed a new contract that runs until 2025.
