Inter have been urged to select striker Romelu Lukaku from the start when they face Sampdoria in Serie A on Monday by Italian journalist Stefano De Grandis.

The Nerazzurri take on the struggling Blucerchiati at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris and Lukaku is expected to earn a first start since the opening game in January, as he recovers from a muscle injury sustained last month.

Appearing as a guest on Italian television broadcaster Sky Sport Italia earlier today, and as reported by L’Interista.it, De Grandis argued that it was the correct call to give Lukaku the chance to build up his fitness, despite Edin Dzeko being in good form and likely to drop to the bench.

“That’s right, he needs to play. He is getting playing time, despite Dzeko’s incredible season,” De Grandis declared.

Lukaku returned to Inter on loan from Premier League club Chelsea last summer but has failed to make an impact, with injuries limiting him to just 11 appearances in all competitions, and only two goals.
