Former Bari defender Lorenzo Amoruso believes that the arrival of forward Sebastiano Esposito on loan from Inter can help them push on for promotion this season.

The Biancorossi secured Esposito until the end of the campaign in January after he cut short a loan at Belgian club Anderlecht, and scored on his debut in a 4-3 win over SPAL last weekend.

Bari have the chance to move into third place in Serie B with a victory over Cosenza this afternoon, and in an interview with Italian radio station TMW Radio, and as reported as FCInterNews.it, Amoruso felt Esposito could make the difference.

“At home they certainly dropped too many points, even if in some games they didn’t deserve to lose, but Serie B is like that,” the former Blackburn Rovers and Rangers defender claimed.

“We need to improve the numbers, trying to score a little more and certainly concede fewer goals. Esposito’s arrival is an element that can come in handy in this second half of the season.”

Esposito came through Inter’s academy and has made seven senior appearances for the Nerazzurri, scoring once. He has since had loan spells at SPAL, Venezia, and FC Basel.
