Inter have been left perplexed by some of the recent handling of the new stadium issue by city rivals AC Milan.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri’s intention is still to wait for approval to build in the San Siro, whilst the Rossoneri have increasingly indicated an openness to building elsewhere.
Whilst Inter and Milan have been moving forward on a project to build a new stadium in place of the San Siro, the Rossoneri have grown frustrated with the continued delays which has led to suggestions that they are now ready to pursue alternative plans.
Milan President Paolo Scaroni has made remarks where he admitted that this is a serious consideration for the Rossoneri.
For Inter, on the other hand, the absolute priority remains to demolish the San Siro and build a new stadium to replace it within the city of Milan.
Nerazzurri President Steven Zhang is waiting to meet with his Milan counterpart Gerry Cardinale on the subject, although it is not exactly clear when this would take place.
The feeling at Inter right now is that the plan remains to build in the San Siro area, and also that the priority is to build jointly with Milan, as had been the plan agreed with previous Rossoneri owners Elliot Management.
Given that Milan have now started to send signals that they could pursue alternative plans, Inter are feeling a bit perplexed about the situation.
