Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is hoping that his team can immediately bounce back from the disappointment of a draw away to Sampdoria in Serie A.
Speaking to InterTV after the match, via FCInterNews, the coach stressed the importance of immediately getting back on track by doing everything to win against Udinese in the league and then Porto in the Champions League.
Inter will certainly have been hoping for more than just a point from their Serie A clash away to Sampdoria.
However, the run of three wins in all competitions that had seen the Nerazzurri reach the Coppa Italia semifinals against Atalanta and beat city rivals AC Milan in the derby came to a halt at the Marassi.
Sampdoria’s stubborn defense proved to well-organized for Inter to break down.
However, there won’t be much time to dwell on the disappointment of this result, as the Nerazzurri face Udinese in the league next weekend before a massive Champions League round of sixteen first leg tie against Porto.
“We want to get back to winning ways immediately,” Inzaghi said after yesterday’s match, “we face Udinese on Saturday and then Porto, we have a lot of matches close together and we want to do well.”
The coach added of yesterday’s match that “We lacked the goal in the first half, I think all we were missing was finishing.”
“In the second half we didn’t play like we did in the first, there’s certainly regret over not having won.”
Inzaghi added that “The team is doing well, we’re still not conceding goals and we must keep going like this,” Inzaghi added.
“Clearly given all the chances that we created, we had to win this match.”
