Inter looked like a team who were “presumptuous” of a win in their frustrating goalless draw with Sampdoria in Serie A yesterday in the view of Italian media.

Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, argue that the Nerazzurri gave the impression of just passively waiting for their winning goal to come rather than finding ways to truly force the issue.

Inter did not lack for chances or shots on goal against Sampdoria, but in truth Blucerchiati keeper Emil Audero did not have all that much work to do.

For the Corriere, the Nerazzurri had the look of a team who had no real ideas on how to switch things up and start to unsettle a Sampdoria defense who looked organized and one step ahead of the attackers.

It was the type of match, the newspaper suggests, where the Nerazzurri need to be more proactive when their Plan A is not working, and instead the team chose to be complacent because they still expected that the winning goal would eventually arrive.
