The Curva Nord have released a statement criticizing the performance of Inter in Monday evening’s goalless draw away to Sampdoria in Serie A.

Writing in a statement after the match, as reported by FCInterNews, the Nord suggested that the Nerazzurri were playing like nothing more than a provincial side during the second half of the match, and also criticized the tactical approach of coach Simone Inzaghi.

If Inter anticipated that their match away to Sampdoria would be a relatively straightforward three points, then they certainly got a dose of reality as the Blucerchiati held them to an uninspiring scoreless draw.

Despite the fact that Inter had the majority of possession, they struggled to create any telling chances.

From the point of view, a performance like this was not good enough from Inter, and furthermore did not reflect well on the coach Inzaghi who they feel did not show the kind of courage that was needed in the situation.

They write that “The match in Genoa against a relegation-level team shows once again that coach Inzaghi is unable to motivate the guys for matches against so-called smaller teams.”

“The team had the approach of a provincial side in the second half, when instead of taking a risk with three strikers, they stuck with their formation, a risk had to be taken because a draw was of no use to anyone.”

“We’re Inter, it’s the opposition who must fear us,” the statement goes on, “we should attack and demonstrate superiority, and instead we look like a midtable team who are happy to settle for an away draw.”

“We lost vital points in this match,” the Nord argue, “because behind us there are  three teams ready to capitalize on any slip-ups,” the Nord argues.
