Former Inter, Napoli, and Messina striker Arturo Di Napoli feels that while the Nerazzurri have a top-class squad and are capable of playing good football, they lack consistency.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, via FCInterNews, the former striker suggested that the Inter directors could see the lack of real consistency from match to match as a serious issue despite the more positive aspects of how the team perform.

Inter have certainly managed some statement performances and results this season, including key wins against the likes of Barcelona, Napoli, and AC Milan.

However, the Nerazzurri have seemed unable to turn these moments of brilliance into longer-term success, with their draw against Sampdoria on Monday the latest example of the team not being able to repeat a big win from their previous match.

For his part, Di Napoli believes that the Nerazzurri hierarchy could be looking at the lack of consistency as the real identity of the team at the moment.

“Inter have a great squad, they also play good football, but they’re very inconsistent and I think that the directors will have serious concern with that,” the former striker said.

“Inconsistency always gives directors something to think about, and I think they’ll be considering making a change,” he added.
