Former Udinese coach Gabriele Cioffi feels that current Friulani defender Rodrigo Becao would be ready to play for Inter.

Speaking to Italian news outlet Cronache di Spogliatoio, via FCInterNews, the former coach suggested that whilst the Brazilian did need an adjustment period to the level of Serie A, he is now a fully mature defender who would be at the level of the Nerazzurri.

Becao’s name has been one of the main ones linked with Inter as the Nerazzurri go in search of a defender capable of replacing Milan Skriniar on the right side of their back three now that the Slovakian is set to leave for Paris Saint-Germain.

The fact that the 25-year-old has proven very adept at playing on the right side of a back three system during his time in Friuli means that he could be the right stylistic profile to replace Skriniar.

For his part, Cioffi expects that Becao would also be ready in terms of his mentality and understanding of the game.

“Becao would have the maturity to play for Inter,” the coach said based on his experience with the defender.

“Initially, he played like a wolf, roaming the pitch, but he’s grown into a player who fits into the structure of a team,” he added of the Brazilian.
