Inter midfielders Marcelo Brozovic and Hakan Calhanoglu could both start in the team’s Serie A clash with Udinese on Saturday evening.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, who report that the pair could play as a double pivot in the Nerazzurri’s starting eleven with Brozovic set to make his first start in five months.

Given that Brozovic has not started a match for Inter in the past five months, the Nerazzurri have had to make do in his absence.

It has been Calhanoglu who has stepped into the 30-year-old’s shoes to become the first-choice deep-lying midfielder in the Nerazzurri’s trio.

Brozovic is now fully fit and ready to come back into the regular starting eleven, but there are questions about how he and Calhanoglu will fit into the lineup given the Turk’s emergence as a very proficient regista.

According to Sky, there is a real chance that both will play deeper against Udinese, with the Nerazzurri potentially changing to a system with a double pivot in midfield.
