Inter are the only team who have made Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram a concrete offer of a contract for the summer at this point.
This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri’s offer of a five-year deal worth €5 million net remains on the table, whilst Bayern Munich’s interest has cooled and the player’s agents are waiting to see what comes from the Premier League.
Inter have been in talks with Thuram since before the World Cup.
The Frenchman is a long-term target, having also been reportedly close to a move in the summer of 2021.
The fact that the player is available on a free transfer when his contract at the end of June means that the Nerazzurri are very keen.
Inter have been far from the only club to have shown an interest in taking advantage of Thuram’s circumstances, with Bayern having been particularly linked.
The Bavarians had been ready to offer the World Cup runner-up a deal worth €6 million net per season.
However, according to FCInterNews, the German champions’ interest has waned as they are focused on extending the contract of Eric Maxime Choupo-Moting and getting Sadio Mane back to his best, whilst for an attacking target they’d prefer a more traditional number nine.
Meanwhile, teams in the Premier League have also emerged with an interest in Thuram.
According to FCInterNews, all of Chelsea, Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Newcastle United have enquired with the player’s representatives already.
However, for the time being, Thuram’s agents are still waiting for a concrete offer to come in from a Premier League team.
For the time being, Inter’s offer is the only one that Thuram and his representatives have officially received.
