Inter have decided to move past the incident between striker Romelu Lukaku and Nicolo Barella on the pitch during the team’s Serie A draw against Sampdoria earlier this week without any fines.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that after meeting about it the club have decided that the best thing is to just put the unfortunate matter in the past as soon as possible.

There was certainly a possibility that Lukaku, Barella, or both could be fined given that the way that they lost their temper with one another during the match at the Marassi on Monday was nothing if not unprofessional.

However, the decision of the club directors after speaking about it for several hours is to not provoke any more negative feelings by fining or disciplining the players more than they already have been.

Both players have already been spoken to sternly by the coach, and have made their apologies to one another with no evident lingering bad feelings between them.

The decision of the directors is to treat the matter as something very unfortunate that can happen when things aren’t going according to plan on the pitch, but not as something that needs to drag on off the pitch.
