Inter Milan Monitoring Liverpool’s Firmino & Gladbach’s Thuram As Lukaku’s Future Far From Certain, Italian Media Report

Inter are looking at Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino and Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram as possible targets in the event that Romelu Lukaku does not stay at the club past the end of this season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the pair of potential free transfer opportunities are among the main ideas that the club have in the event that Lukaku is not brought back.

Lukaku’s poor form this season has meant that it is far from certain that Inter will decide to sign him on another loan from Chelsea next season.

However, the main difficulty that would emerge if Lukaku were not to be brought back would naturally be finding a suitable replacement.

Firmino’s contract with Liverpool expires at the end of June, and whilst it is unclear whether or not the Brazilian will extend with the Reds, Inter would be ready to move for him if he declines their offer.

Meanwhile, Gladbach’s Thuram is a long-term target for the Nerazzurri.

The Frenchman is set to leave the Bundesliga club on a free transfer this summer, and whilst Bayern Munich look to be the favourites for his signature, Inter do not feel that they are out of the race.
