Inter ultras group the Curva Nord have made clear that while they will continue to support coach Simone Inzaghi and the team, they expect changes.

Explaining their position in a post on their official YouTube channel, the group made clear that they have no intention of booing or jeering the coach, but that after Monday’s match against Sampdoria, the attitude of the team has to be different.

The Nord released a statement shortly after the Nerazzurri’s surprise draw away to Sampdoria, condemning in particular the way that the team played in the second half of the match, which they compared to a “provincial” side in Serie A.

The Nord also directed their criticism at coach Inzaghi in particularly, whose lack of risk-taking was partly responsible for the goalless draw in the group’s eyes.

They have gone further, clearly asking for a change from the coach and from the team.

“We made our press release because we wanted the coach to understand the vision that we want to see implemented in future matches,” they stated.

“We;re not calling him into question as a professional and a man,” they continued.

“We’re not going against the coach, we won’t boo him and we will continue until the end of the season with him,” they added, “we’ve made our point about what we’ve seen to him, however, as over the past two years we have frequently seen the team play with a submissive attitude.”

“We will still support Inzaghi, but he also has to shift his attitude to reflect that of a coach at a big team, he must make the leap that other great coaches have made, which is attacking 100%.”

“We’re a top team, we always want to be on the attack, even if it means dropping points,” they suggested.

“Even travelling to Rome to face Lazio and starting Gagliardini is the attitude of a provincial team, it means leaving out Calhanoglu out of caution and feat,” the group argued.

“It is Lazio that must be afraid of Inter, not the other way around.”

“We have given a few words to the coach, we would like to see the attitude change,” the Nord make clear.

“There won’t be any problems on Saturday evening, we’ll all be cheering for Inter,” they continued, “but Inter must attack and not settle for meagre points.”
