The Saudi Arabian organizers of this season’s Supercoppa Italiana are hoping to negotiate a deal with the Lega Serie A to host the competition for the next six seasons.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that a meeting is expected in March, and that the Saudi organizers are aiming to expand the format of the tournament to a four-team competition.

The Supercoppa match between Inter and AC Milan was held in Riyadh last month, having been held at the San Siro the season before.

It remains to be seen where the match will be held next season and onwards, but according to FCInterNews, Saudi Arabia have ambitious plans for the competition.

According to the news outlet, Saudi Arabia not only want to hold the Supercoppa for the next season, but they want it to become a four-team mini-tournament similar to the Spanish equivalent.

Two finals each would be held in Riydah, Jeddah, and Abu Dhabi per the plans proposed by the Saudi organizers.

According to FCInterNews, the next and potentially decisive meeting between the organizers and the Lega Serie A is set to take place next month.
