Atalanta goalkeeper Juan Musso believes that this can be the moment for La Dea to step back into the limelight in Serie A and secure a spot in the Champions League.
Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, the Argentine stressed the view that the Lombard team can really be a force in the race for top four against the likes of Inter, AC Milan, Roma, and Lazio.
Last season, Atalanta finished in eighth place, which may not be a disappointment by their historical standard, but certainly fell short of the heights that they’ve scaled in recent seasons under coach Gian Piero Gasperini.
La Dea have managed to establish themselves as a force at the top end of the Serie A table alongside the more established Serie A teams.
This season, the trend looks to be closer to Atalanta’s best seasons under Gasperini rather than last season’s ultimate disappointment.
Musso noted that “We’re hungry to do what we failed to do last season.”
Of qualifying for the Champions League, the keeper said that “It’s what we have in mind – we know that we can do it.”
“But we’re up against Napoli, Inter, Milan, Rome, Lazio, maybe even Juve.”
“With competition like this you have to be brave, you have to be hungry,” the 28-year-old stated.
“And you have to believe in yourselves enough to think that you can beat anyone.”
