Inter are looking at Roma defender Chris Smalling to replace Stefan de Vrij, and Leicester City defender Caglar Soyuncu to replace Milan Skriniar in the summer transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri have lined up the pair as two of the main targets for their new-look defense heading into next season.

Smalling is Inter’s main target to replace de Vrij should the Dutchman not extend his contract past June.

The Englishman would be available on a free transfer should he not extend his own contract with Roma, and Inter have made their offer of a two-year deal worth €3.5 million net per season clear.

Meanwhile, to replace Milan Skriniar after the 28-year-old joins Paris Saint-Germain, a couple of names are high on the Nerazzurri’s list according to the Gazzetta.

Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka would be available on a free transfer, but the Frenchman appears to be on the verge of agreeing a deal with Barcelona so Inter could have to look elsewhere.

Leicester City defender Soyuncu has also appeared to be potentially headed to La Liga, with Atletico Madrid pursuing the Turkish international.

However, the Colchoneros have yet to get a deal done for Soyuncu, and Inter are hoping to overtaking the Spanish giants to sign the 26-year-old on a free transfer for next season.
