Inter defender Stefan de Vrij is set to start tomorrow evening’s Serie A match against Udinese, his second start for the Nerazzurri in a week
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, who report that the Dutchman is ahead of Francesco Acerbi to start in the central position of Inter’s back three to face the Friulani tomorrow.
De Vrij has not always featured in Inter’s starting eleven this season, with Acerbi frequently having been the player favoured in the central role in the back three since his arrival on loan from Lazio on the final day of the summer transfer window.
However, de Vrij is hardly out of contention, and the 31-year-old former Lazio and Feyenoord player put in a solid performance against Sampdoria on Monday to reassert himself.
Accordingly, Sky report, the Dutchman is the favourite to start against Udinese rather than Acerbi at the centre of the back three.
