Inter defender Danilo D’Ambrosio is expecting a tough encounter when the Nerazzurri face Porto in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.

The 34-year-old was a second half substitute as Inter defeated Udinese 3-1 in Serie A at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza this evening, but has already turned his attention towards the Round of 16 clash in Europe in midweek.

Speaking to the club’s inhouse television channel, Inter TV, after the final whistle against the Zebrette, and as reported by FCInterNews.it, D’Ambrosio warned that the Nerazzurri could not afford to make mistakes against Porto or they would risk elimination from the Champions League.

“Porto are used to these matches, but in recent years so are we. We will try to impose our style and play a great game,” the former Torino defender declared.

“Compliments are always nice. For the Champions League game, it’s normal that on Wednesday there will be a lot more quality on both sides. We know that from the first mistake we make there will be goal-scoring opportunities.

“We have three or four days to work and to put into practice what we will try in training. We are always growing, we always try to learn from our mistakes. Against Sampdoria we didn’t manage to finish the many chances we had, but today we did.”

D’Ambrosio joined Inter in 2014 and has made 270 appearances for the club, scoring 21 goals and lifting the Serie A title and the Coppa Italia with the Nerazzurri.
