Inter had midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan to thank for their 3-1 win over Udinese in Serie A yesterday evening, with the veteran rolling back the years to inspire them to victory.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere della Sera, the former Armenia international showed himself to be evergreen as he put the Nerazzurri 2-1 up in the second half with an excellent strike, meeting a Federico Dimarco pass to curl the ball beyond Marco Silvestri.

Inter had been left struggling to break down a solid Udinese defence, but Mkhitaryan is described as being able to unlock the puzzle and secure the win for the hosts at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

Meanwhile, the introduction of midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu and striker Lautaro Martinez in the second half also made a difference, with the latter adding the third goal late on, and pushing coach Simone Inzaghi to return to them for Wednesday’s clash against Porto.
