Inter striker Romelu Lukaku endured a difficult evening during the 3-1 win over Udinese yesterday, despite ending his scoring drought in Serie A.

As reported by L’Interista.it, the Belgium international received mixed reviews in Italian media for his display at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, as his first half penalty saw him score for the first time since the opening day of the season.

Tuttosport were the most favourable towards the former Manchester United striker, as they awarded him a 6.5 in their player ratings and argued that he had shown great desire to prove himself on the pitch, particularly after a difficult season.

However, it was noted that he was fortunate not to lose his perfect record from the penalty spot, after an awful effort was saved by Udinese’s Marco Silvestri, only for Lukaku to be given another chance when the goalkeeper stepped off his line too early.

Lukaku earned a 6 from La Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport, whilst L’Interista and Tuttomercatoweb also gave him that score, but noted that he was at fault for Udinese’s equaliser.

A poor pass to Federico Dimarco allowed the Zebrette in, and Sandi Lovric made no mistake in cancelling out Lukaku’s penalty.
