Inter showed their strength of determination in yesterday’s 3-1 win over Udinese in Serie A, as they prepare for a Champions League clash against Porto.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of Corriere dello Sport, the manner of the win over the Zebrette was far from ideal, with Sandi Lovric cancelling out Romelu Lukaku’s penalty before Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Lautaro Martinez snatched the victory at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

However, the tiring win ought to serve as a sign of courage and desire to fight under coach Simone Inzaghi, and should stand Inter in good stead for the match against Porto.

Inter went into the game against Udinese knowing that a victory was all but essential to avoid complications in an increasingly tight race to secure Champions League qualification, and did so eventually.

It may have come at a cost, with Mkhitaryan limping off in the second half, but the performances of Hakan Calhanoglu and Martinez were positive signs for the midweek encounter against the Portuguese club.
