Despite ending his goal drought, Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has come in for criticism for his performance in the 3-1 win over Udinese from Italian journalist Fabio Ravezzani.

The Belgium international scored a first half penalty, at the second attempt, to end a goal drought in Serie A that stretched back to the opening day of the season, as Inter secured a win at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

Appearing on the Qui Studio a Voi Stadio YouTube channel to discuss the Nerazzurri’s victory, Ravezzani argued that Lukaku had not done enough throughout the match and that his poor form this season was becoming a growing concern for Inter.

The journalist blasted the Chelsea loanee for being overweight and felt that he was not in good enough physical condition to assist Simone Inzaghi’s team.

“It worries me about Lukaku, who apart from the goal was embarrassing,” Ravezzani declared.

“He is a cumbersome player. He said he felt 100%, but this Lukaku is not needed at Inter. I always see him weighed down, he should go on a strict diet and lose those three or four extra kilos he is carrying around.”

Lukaku has only scored three goals for Inter this season since returning to the club from Chelsea in the summer, and has struggled to maintain his fitness amidst an injury-hit campaign.
