Inter midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is set to be fit for his team’s Champions League round of sixteen first leg match against Porto despite a slight injury scare.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, who report that tests confirmed that the knock that the Armenian received above his ankle was not serious, and that he will be fit and available for Wednesday’s match.

Given that Inter are set to face Porto in the Champions League this week, there was concern when Mkhitaryan had to come off the pitch in some discomfort during the second half of Inter’s Serie A clash with Udinese on Saturday.

The 34-year-old former Roma, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Borussia Dortmund midfielder indicated that there was discomfort with his ankle as he came off.

However, medical exams have confirmed that it is not a serious injury, and the 33-year-old was back in training and should be fully fit in time for Wednesday evening.
