Inter midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is working hard in training to be ready to start for the Nerazzurri in Wednesday evening’s Champions League round of sixteen first leg match against Porto.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 34-year-old is pushing to be fit and available, and that there is a good chance that he will start the match.

Mkhitaryan had to come off the pitch as a substitute during Inter’s Serie A win against Udinese on Saturday evening, due to a slight ankle problem.

However, the knock is not serious enough that it should rule the Armenian former Manchester United, Arsenal, and Roma midfielder out for very long.

According to the Corriere, there is a very good chance that the 34-year-old will already be back in time to start for the Nerazzurri this week against Porto, and this is exactly what he is pushing to do over the next few training sessions.
