AC Milan are becoming more and more inclined towards building a new stadium on their own rather than together with city rivals Inter.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who report that with uncertainty around the Nerazzurri’s ownership and strategy, the Rossoneri are losing patience as the process of trying to build a stadium to replace the San Siro drags on.

Whilst Inter and Milan have been working together for some time with the aim of building a new stadium to replace the San Siro, the continued bureaucratic delays have meant that they’ve been unable to start construction.

Whilst both clubs have grown impatient, the Corriere della Sera report that Milan have become particularly so.

Accordingly, the newspaper reports, the Rossoneri are increasingly willing to jump on another option that would be available to start construction soon, whether that be in Sesto San Giovanni, San Donato, or the Hippodrome of San Siro area adjacent to the existing stadium.

Milan are uncertain about moving forward in this direction with Inter particularly given the situation with the Nerazzurri’s ownership, which could well change in the near future, and so they would be likelier to build on their own.

According to the Corriere della Sera, this would likely leave the Nerazzurri to stay in the existing Giuseppe Meazza stadium, potentially refurbishing it.
