Inter striker Edin Dzeko and midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu are the favourites to start in tomorrow evening’s Champions League round of sixteen first leg against Porto, but far from certain to do so.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that there are still selection doubts for Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi as either Romelu Lukaku or Marcelo Brozovic could also start.
Inzaghi is largely clear on who he intends to select in his starting eleven to face Porto.
However, the coach has not yet made a final decision on who will start in attack alongside Lautaro Martinez, and whilst Dzeko remains slight favourite, Lukaku would have a real chance as well.
Meanwhile, Brozovic’s return to fitness means that a start for the Croat cannot be ruled out even though the in-form Calhanoglu is favourite.
The Gazzetta’s complete predicted starting eleven for the match is as follows:
Inter (3-5-2): Onana; Skriniar, Acerbi, Bastoni; Darmian, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Dzeko, Lautaro.
