Legendary former Inter striker Adriano feels that, whilst Porto will be a formidable opponent in the Champions League, Inter have the quality to make a run in the competition.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport in an interview published in today’s print edition, via FCInterNews, the Brazilian gave his thoughts ahead of tomorrow evening’s round of sixteen first leg between the Nerazzurri and the Portuguese champions.

Whilst Inter may have felt fortunate to avoid teams like Real Madrid and Manchester City in the round of sixteen, they will be well aware of the quality that Porto possess.

The Portuguese side have proven themselves to be a force in Europe, and Inter’s Serie A rivals Roma, Juventus, and AC Milan have all found that out as they’ve been eliminated from the Champions League.

Porto’s organization in and out of possession has drawn praise, and Inter will have to find solutions to what promises to be a tricky matchup.

“It won’t be easy to play against Porto, who are a very organized team,” Adriano predicted, “but I always believe in my Inter – they’re a complete team with everything needed to go far in Europe.”

The Brazilian also gave his thoughts on Nerazzurri striker Romelu Lukaku, stating that “Romelu is very similar to me in all respects, not just in terms of his strength and left-footed shot.”

“I’m sure he’ll score against Porto,” he added, “actually no, I think he’ll score a hattrick like I did.”
