Hakan Calhanoglu is close to putting pen to paper on a contract extension at Inter Milan after coming to a complete agreement with the club on terms for a new deal.
This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that only the signatures and then official announcement remain, as the Nerazzurri have broken through in talks with the 29-year-old’s agent over the past couple days.
Inter have wanted to avoid another situation like that of defender Milan Skriniar with Calhanoglu, and so have wasted no time in trying to make progress in contract extension negotiations with the player and his representatives.
The former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder is represented by agent Gordon Stipic, who has been in talks with the Nerazzurri for a few weeks.
Over the past couple of days, the Gazzetta reports, the talks have reached a very advanced stage, with Inter and Calhanoglu’s agent agreeing terms on a new contract until either the end of June 2026 or 2027, possibly containing an optional season.
Given that Calhanoglu has further cemented his status as a first-choice midfielder for the Nerazzurri this season, wrapping up the talks would be an important brealkthrough for the club.
