Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is pushing to make the signing of defender Francesco Acerbi from Lazio permanent at the end of the season.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri coach has already intervened to try and get things moving in the process of making the 35-year-old’s loan move a permanent transfer.

Inzaghi has never made any secret of the fact that he is an admirer of Acerbi’s, and the 46-year-old coach was the player’s main sponsor when he was brought in from Lazio on loan at the end of the summer transfer window.

The coach had worked with Acerbi for three seasons whilst at the Biancocelesti and he had no doubts of the former Sassuolo defender’s suitability to reinforce Inter’s defense at a low cost this season.

Inzaghi’s instincts have proven correct as Acerbi has become a key part of the Nerazzurri’s first-choice starting eleven, and for his part the coach wants there to be no doubt that the defender will be kept on permanently.
