Inter CEO Beppe Marotta feels that, whilst he would hope that all the contract extension talks over the next few months can go as well as possible, the club will have to make some decisions.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri CEO gave his thoughts on the various contract situations that are ongoing at the club.

A number of players currently in Inter’s squad see their contracts with the club run out at the end of June.

Additionally, the likes of striker Romelu Lukaku and Francesco Acerbi are only at the Nerazzurri player on loan until the end of the season, and it remains to be seen if the pair will be brought back next time around.

These questions are to be decided on by Marotta and his colleagues at the club.

From the CEO’s perspective, there is no question that he would like to reward players with new deals, although ultimately he and his colleagues have choices to make.

“We have numerous players whose contracts expires soon, from a professional point of view they all deserve to be given new deals,” the CEO said.

“However, when we analyze things, we unfortunately must put our emotions to the side and think about things rationally,” he continued.

“We will have to make our choices, we have to evaluate things, but we always do so with the utmost respect for the players in question,” the CEO stressed.

Marotta explained that “This is a dynamic that Sporting Sirector Ausilio has been trying to establish for a long time, I hope that we can reach conclusions that satisfy all the players who want to stay.”
