The heated exchange of words between Inter striker Edin Dzeko and goalkeeper Andre Onana was only the latest incident in which the nerves of Nerazzurri players have been visible on the pitch.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who note the fact that, even though these incidents have always been resolved quickly, they have popped up with some frequency.

After Dzeko and Onana had their argument on the pitch in Wednesday’s Champions League win over Porto, it was clear afterwards that it was only a brief incident, and the pair made up quickly.

This had also been the case between midfielder Nicolo Barella and striker Romelu Lukaku who had an argument of their own during the team’s Serie A draw against Sampdoria.

The Corriere notes that, even if these incidents aren’t serious on their own, a pattern is emerging.

There had also been the uncharacteristic red card received by Milan Skriniar during a shock home loss to Empoli last month, which coincided with the release of an interview with the Slovakian’s agent confirming his intention to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Earlier in the season, Alessandro Bastoni had made no secret of his anger after being substituted off in the first half of a Serie A loss to Udinese.

In the view of the Corriere, all of these incidents show that Inter can be a team with a real “nervousness” about them, and it occasionally bubbles up to the surface.
