Premier League giants Liverpool have made Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella one of their top targets as they aim to reinforce in central areas.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the 26-year-old is high on the Reds’ list of midfield reinforcements, although the player has a contract with the Nerazzurri until the end of June 2026 and is completely happy at the club.

Liverpool are looking to strengthen their midfield during the summer transfer window.

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham would be the dream target for the Reds, but they are aware of the difficulty of signing the midfielder, and so they are also looking at a number of other targets.

According to the Gazzetta, Barella is high on the Merseyside club’s shortlist.

However, the newspaper notes, the former Cagliari midfielder is content at Inter and in Milan, and so at the moment it does not look likely that he would be inclined to accept any offer from Liverpool.
